Beloved Sisters of HAC,
September is here, fall is around the corner, and we’re ready for this new Sororal Year! Our 2024-25 mantra is “Preparing to present an
acceptable and pleasing offering unto God” – Romans 12:1-2.
Let’s consider what this passage looks like in “word and deed.” To begin, we must understand the order, prepare then present. Our
preparation must proceed our presentation. One of many ways we prepare and present ourselves before our Holy and Righteous God is through intentional and continual “mind renewal” – read His word.
Two things: God’s word empowers us to “just say no!” “No” to conforming to the beliefs, ideals, and systems of the world, and to our will. This is pleasing to God. God’s word empowers us to say “yes”. “Yes” to being transformed into the image of Christ, to the behavior of Christ, and to the will of Christ. This is pleasing to God.
“Thy word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path,” Psalm 119:105. This is God’s divine compass – direction and guidance for how we should live, and that acceptable to Him.
Dear sisters of HAC, let us prepare to love and serve God and mankind in light of His word, our renewed minds, and His transformative powers. September is known as the month of Harvest and harvest time is especially reflective of God’s provisions and blessings. Let us become more faithful and intentional to be a blessing inour city, state, and world, this is pleasing to God.
