ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS!  Scholarship applications are now available!  Applications must be received by January 23, 2026.  Scholarship descriptions and the applications are listed below.

Each year, the Huntsville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  awards thousands of dollars in college tuition scholarships.

Applications are accepted from November to mid-January.   Students from Madison County, Madison City, and Huntsville City Schools, as well as area private schools with at least a 3.0 GPA may apply. The scholarship is available to high school seniors who will be attending an accredited college or university for the fall semester of the upcoming academic year.

Scholarships awarded by the Huntsville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (HAC of DST):

Louise Ragland DeShields: A 4-year scholarship (8 consecutive semesters) awarded to a student who will attend Alabama Agricultural & Mechanical University (AAMU), in Normal, Alabama. The student will be awarded $3250 per semester. This award is renewable, provided the student maintains a GPA of 3.0 for every semester.  **not offered for 2026**

Nell Lane Bradford: A one-time, $3000 scholarship awarded to a student majoring in music at the student’s college or university of choice. The scholarship is awarded for the initial Fall semester and is not renewable.  APPLY ONLINE

 Calhoun County Community College: A one-time, $3000 scholarship awarded to a student who will attend Calhoun Community College in Huntsville, Alabama. This scholarship is awarded for the initial Fall semester and is not renewable.  APPLY ONLINE

 University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH):  A one-time, $3500 scholarship awarded to a student who will attend the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). This scholarship is awarded for the initial Fall semester and is not renewable.  APPLY ONLINE

 Oakwood University:  A one-time, $3500 scholarship awarded to a student who will attend Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. This scholarship is awarded for the initial Fall semester and is not renewable.  APPLY ONLINE

Historically Black College and University (HBCU):  A one-time, $5500 scholarship awarded to a student who will attend a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) of his or her choice. The scholarship will be awarded for the initial Fall semester and is not renewable.  APPLY ONLINE

JF Drake State Community and Technical College: A one-time $3000 scholarship awarded to a student who will attend J.F. Drake State Community and Technical College. The scholarship is awarded for the initial Fall semester and is not renewable.  APPLY ONLINE

College of Choice:  A one-time, $5000 scholarship awarded to a student planning to attend a college or university of his or her choice. The scholarship is awarded for the initial Fall semester and is not renewable. APPLY ONLINE

 GEMS:  A one-time, $2000 scholarship  awarded to a student who is a current participant in the GEMS program sponsored by the Huntsville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The scholarship will be applied to the initial Fall semester, at the student’s college or university of choice, and is not renewable.  To apply, reach out to the GEMS Chairperson.

 EMBODI: One-time, $2000 scholarship awarded to a student who is a current participant in the EMBODI program sponsored by the Huntsville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The scholarship will be applied to the initial Fall semester, at the student’s college or university of choice, and is not renewable. To apply, reach out to the EMBODI Chairperson.
